We have written a new (2010) book on public relations titled PR Strategy and Application:  Managing Influence.  It is published by Wiley-Blackwell.  The book examines various management applications of public relations thoughtfully.  this means we cover key theories and principles then consider both the good and the bad applications of the various management areas including crisis communication, issues management, risk communication, social marketing, online relations, and corporate social responsibility.  We include a length discussion of activism’s connection to public relations as well as the increasingly relevant topics of transparency and globalization.  Ethics has its own chapter but is woven throughout the book as we consider the good and bad application of public relations.  Finally, we introduce the concept of public relations literacy and its value to both constituents and the practice. 

We plan to use the blog to provided updated examples that will allow us to extend the content of the book.  It also gives the readers a chance to provide feedback directly to us.  If people ask questions, we will answer them here as well.
